The Electrospinning Company expands development, licensing and manufacturing partnerships across North America following USPTO grant
OXFORD, UK – 06/10/2026 – The Electrospinning Company has been granted a U.S. patent for its Symatix® biosynthetic technology. The patent gives medical device partners protected access to the technology as the company expands its development, licensing and manufacturing partnerships across North America.
“The granting of this U.S. patent shows our team’s rigorous approach to material innovation and provides our medical device partners with robust, legally protected technology,” said Ann Kramer, CEO of The Electrospinning Company. “This ensures they can confidently design implantable materials with exceptional handling, cellular response, and fully scalable manufacturability.”
The patented Symatix® technology combines electrospun synthetic fibres with natural materials such as collagen, hyaluronic acid and chitosan. The biological materials are embedded directly within or alongside the electrospun fibre network in a precise, controlled process.
The Symatix® membrane, comprising a resorbable polymer and hyaluronic acid, was developed as an alternative to human amniotic membranes for use in corneal repair, and has demonstrated excellent performance in vitro, in vivo and in surgical handling tests.
